Andrei Kolesnikov

Biography

Andrei Kolesnikov has been working in the sphere of higher education for more than thirty five years. He has started as an assistant at the Chair of Theoretical Physics and now is the Professor and Rector of Perm State Pedagogical University.

Since 1989 being the Vice-Rector for Research Management and Foreign Affairs Dr Kolesnikov has been actively developing international academic contacts. In the 1990-s under his coordination the University was involved in three successive Tempus-Tacis Joint European projects on special educational needs, health education and school social work, and in the international project “Visio-Perm” with the Royal Dutch Visio on the education and rehabilitation of the visually impaired as well as in a number of other international academic initiatives. In the framework of these international projects long-term partnerships have been established with the the University of Oxford (the United Kingdom), the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Martin Luether University (Halle-Wittenberg, Germany) and Higher Catholic School of Limburg (Belgium).

Andrei Kolesnikov has published 65 monographs and papers in the fields of Physics of combustion and explosion, Hydrodynamics and Mathematical Modelling of educational processes.

In 2006 Dr Kolesnikov was awarded with the Ministry of Education and Science Badge “The Honorary worker of higher professional education of the Russian Federation”. In 2011 the title of “The Honorary worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation” was conferred on him.
