Vladimir Klimanov

Biography

Born in 1969 in Moscow. Graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (economic geography).

Mr. Klimanov worked as specialist in regional policy and federal relations at some federal ministries from 1997 to 2000. Since the early 2000s, he is involved in research and consulting activities. Since 2002, director of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization ‘Institute for Public Finance Reform’, project manager of some dozens successfully implemented projects on public finance, regional and municipal development. He has traveled across 60 Russian regions with lectures and consulting their authorities.

In 2003, Mr. Klimanov defended his thesis as Doctor of Sciences in Economics in the Institute for System Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since 2010, Head of the Department of State Regulation of Economy at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation.

Board Member of the Association of Russian Economic Think Tanks.
