Born on 11 July, 1954

Academic and educational achievements

1979 — graduated from the Economic Department of the Moscow State University;
1982 — awarded a Candidate of Sciences (PhD) degree in economics;
1991 — awarded a Doctor of Sciences (advanced PhD) degree in economics;
1993 — Full Professor at the Economic Department of the Moscow State University.

Since 2001, Chair of the Programme for Applied Institutional Economics of the Economic Department of the Moscow State University, scholarly specialisation — Institutional Economics.

Author of more than 130 scholarly works, including four monographs and a university textbook on institutional economics.

An Academic Board member at the Economic Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

An Academic Board member at the Economic Department of the Higher School of Economics.

President of the Association of Independent Centres for Economic Analysis.

Member of the Advisory Council of the Moscow Carnegie Centre.

Since 2007, member of the Government Commission on Evaluation of Effectiveness of Federal and Regional Executive Authorities.
Since 2008, a Management Board member at the Institute of Contemporary Development.
