Mikhail Yakushev

Biography

Born in 1967 in Moscow.

Graduated from the Department of International Law of Moscow State University of Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. Was in the diplomatic service, and then was the Head of the legal services at several high-tech companies.

2004–2006: Director of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Russian Federation.

Since 2010: Works in the DST and Mail. Ru. Group companies. Currently: Vice President for coordination with government agencies.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications, member of the Board of Directors of the Coordination Center of the national Internet domain. Represented the Russian Federation in the Secretary-General of the United Nations’ Internet regulation taskforce (2004–2005), was the Deputy Head of the taskforce of the Council of Europe for cross-border Internet (2010–2011). The Author of several monographs and many publications on questions related to the regulation of the Internet, information law and legal aspects of the development of the Internet. Was the Secretary of the Inter-Agency Taskforce for developing a series of federal legislative acts in the area of information law.
